Ameranouche breaks through! They opened at the JVC Newport Jazz Festival 2008-- the first Gypgy Jazz group ever -- on August 10, 2008. Their set received a standing ovation. One festival-goer's review said: "... they were playing on the Waterside Stage as we entered the festival grounds and headed toward the main stage, and their music was so infectious it stopped us in our tracks."
