East Sangerville Grange

Tickets are $12 at the door or you can pick them up in advance at Bob’s Home & Garden in Dover-Foxcroft. You can also reserve your tickets by calling 564-8596. Doors open at 5:30, show starts at 7:00.

Directions: ESG is a little tricky to find and cannot be accurately located using a GPSbecause the building does not have a numbered street address. Some daring souls have tried using other nearby points of reference as a guide. Unfortunately, they have ended up being routed down snowmobile trails and rutted dirt roads no where near the Grange. But have no fear! It’s actually a fairly straightforward drive – though it never hurts to bring your Delorme.

Grange Map

From Points South: Take I-95N to exit 157 to Newport. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp. You’ll cross the highway and come to a traffic light. Go straight through the light on Rte 7 to Dexter, approximately 9 miles. There is one set of traffic lights in Dexter. Continue on Rte. 7 straight through the Dexter traffic light to Dover-Foxcroft. In approximately 12.5 miles turn left on Pine St. (The river will be on your right after you make the turn; if you come to the traffic lights at the T-intersection in town you have gone too far.) Travel on Pine St. for about 4.1 miles. (Watch your odometer because there are no good landmarks to indicate you have gone too far!) Turn left on East Sangerville Rd. The East Sangerville Grange is approximately 1.4 miles on the right.

From Bangor: Follow Rte. 15 to Dover-Foxcroft. When you reach the traffic light in Dover-Foxcroft turn left onto Rte. 7. In .2 miles turn right on Pine St. (The river will be on your right.) Travel on Pine St. for about 4.1 miles. (Watch your odometer because there are no good landmarks to indicate you have gone too far!) Turn left on East Sangerville Rd. The East Sangerville Grange is approximately 1.4 miles on the right.

From Skowhegan: Follow Rte. 150  to Guilford. In Guilford you will encounter the strangest non-intersection looking intersection in the county: you’ll see a Mobil Station on your left, a Rite Aid on your right, and a small bridge running between two brick buildings in front of you. At this point, 150 merges with Rte. 6/15. Go “straight” through the intersection on Rte. 6/15 to Dover-Foxcroft (if you turn left you’ll end up in Greenville.) In about 1.1 miles, turn right onto Rte. 23. About .5 miles down Rte. 23 turn left onto Douty Hill Rd. Follow Douty Hill Rd. for about 2.6 miles to East Sangerville Rd. (If you see a sign for Knowlton Mills Rd. you have gone about 1 mile too far). Turn Right onto East Sangerville Rd. The Grange is about 1.4 miles on the right.
