What is a House Concert?

A house concert is a private event that turns your living room or backyard into a music venue for one night.  Friends, neighbors, and acquaintances are typically invited.  As the host, the particulars of the event are up to you!   Ameranouche loves to work with all involved to create a successful evening of communal celebration.

How many guests?

All that is needed is a space that can seat 20 or more guests.  The more the merrier (they say), but Ameranouche still wants to have an intimate evening of fellowship and music.

Food/Drink?

There are many options.  Some folks like to have food and drink provided for all guests.  Some ask guests to bring their own.  Other hosts prefer a pot luck dinner and BYOB.   The event can also be snacks and drinks, or just dessert.  Anything that makes you and your guests feel comfortable is best.

What are the performance space options?

Ameranouche can play indoors or outdoors (weather depending).  The group can play (1) unplugged and fully acoustic, (2) amplified by normal AC house outlets, or (3) amplified by our own DC powered portable sound system.  Given these options, Ameranouche can play nearly anywhere!  We are prepared to fit the bill and help make the sound fit your particular situation.

How much space does Ameranouche need?

Ameranouche requires two armless chairs for our guitarists Shepp and Jack and a 5×5′ area for our bassist Michael.  Altogether we require roughly a 9×6′ space minimum.  If we are to use amplification, we require roughly 10×8′.

How much does it cost?

The event can include a suggested donation by all in attendance or be covered by a flat fee provided by the host.  A combination is also possible in which the suggested donation can be set against a guarantee (e.g. $300 or collected donations, whichever is greater).  We are happy to find an amount that works for both parties, just contact us!

Contact

We take pride in maintaining close contact with the event host and in bringing the host’s vision to fruition.  All we require is a chance to play for you and your guests; we are confident it will be an evening to remember!
